Nokian Heavy Tyres were the first tyre manufacturer to develop a dedicated range of RADIAL flotation tyres for agriculture. The first generation was the ELS tread pattern and in total there are fifteen sizes in the range from 17" diameter wheel rim up to 34" diameter. 

The ELS is an excellent flotation tyre for tractors working on fine turf such as turf growers, golf courses and groundcare and pitch maintenance. A radial constructed tyre will offer a flat even footprint whilst a cross-ply tyre, due to its construction, becomes dome shaped considerably reducing the contact area.

The second generation Country King was developed with a steel carcass allowing higher pressure leading to a higher load capacity. The tyre is designed with a very low rolling resistance to save time and fuel. The flexible radial carcass and the directional chevron design of the tread provide excellent self cleaning properties.

There are now nine sizes in the Nokian Country King and the most popular for the UK market is 560/45R22.5, suitable for tandem axle trailers with a load capacity up to 16 tonnes. This tyre size is a direct replacement for the standard 385/65R22.5 ‘Super Single’ remould truck tyre fitted on many UK trailers.
